This article is about the videogame. For the Tremors: The Series episode of the same name, see Shriek and Destroy.

Shriek and Destroy is an online first-person shooter based on the Tremors: The Series episode of the same name. It was originally published on SciFi.com/tremors in 2002 to promote the release of Tremors: The Series. The game has been considered lost content and unplayable since 2007 to 2023, however now it can be played through Bluemaxima's Flashpoint[1].

Gameplay[]

In this game you take the role of Burt Gummer "as he tries to rescue a wayward tourist who has become lost in a canyon full of deadly shriekers", armed with an M4A1 rifle. The goal of the game is to score points, the total number of which is shown at the game-end screen upon reaching the part of the canyon with the lost tourist in it.

Scoring points[]

  • Killing a shrieker awards the player 100 points;
  • Wounding El Blanco takes away 100 points;
  • Entering "the Secret Room" awards the player 1000 points;
  • Getting shot takes away 20 points;
  • The highest possible score is 7300;

The currently available to play version of the game has no way of "entering the secret room" or "getting shot", despite these gameplay features being described on the webpage with the game on SciFi.com/tremors, potentially making them lost content.

Development[]

A PNG image present in the game files reads "game by Scott Treude"[2].
