Meghan

Unimpressed

Dr. Megan Flint is a minor character from the Tremors: The Series episode Night of the Shriekers. It can be argued that Dr. Flint is the main antagonist of the episode, aside from the Shriekers themselves.  Dr. Flint was played by actress Melinda Clarke

Personality[]

Dr. Flint presents herself to be an intelligent and sophisticated woman. She truly believed that her work would revolutionize the world and persuaded others the benefit it could bring.

However, despite her good intentions, she comes off as arrogant and narcissistic; wanting to maintain control over any situation, despite not having the power nor authority to do it. She was so self-assured in her work that she was ignorant to the potential dangers that were happening around her. She finally reveals her selfishness in protecting her Shrieker project that she deliberately sabotages Burt and the others' attempts in survival by destroying Burt's ammunition.

Biography[]

Tremors: The Series[]

Dr. Flint was in charge of the Rescue Team Shriekers project following the procurement of four Shriekers. Through her research, she developed a technique that stopped Shriekers from metamorphosing into Ass Blasters and maintaining the diet that sustained the Shriekers, but kept them from birthing more of their kind.

She and her team eventually took their Shriekers to Perfection Valley where they tested their capabilities. Unfortunately, Burt Gummer soon encountered one of the Rescue Shriekers and shot it down. Following this incident, Megan personally met the residents and explained the potential benefits of her Rescue Team Shriekers in hopes to gain their approval and most likely to get Burt off her back. This seems to work and she left to continue her operation.

On the same night, a storm hit their camp, disabling the Shriekers' Behavior Modification Units (BMU) and causing the once docile team to go back to their feral state. Megan and her senior supervisor, Dr. Harold Baines manage to hide while the Shriekers killed their entire team except Karl Hartung and Otto. They are soon rescued by Burt and agent W.D. Twitchell and are escorted to Burt's house.

Upon hearing Burt's intent on killing the Shriekers, Megan demanded the safety of her Shrieker Team, but was met with fierce opposition by the Graboid Hunter and most of the residents of Perfection, who knew from personal experience how deadly her creatures really are. The request became harder to accept following Hartung's death at the hands of the creatures. Only Nancy felt sympathy for her work. This left Dr. Flint in despair, knowing that this will lead to the end of her project, as well as her career.

Flint learned about Otto's survival and was relieved to hear from him about the back-up system for the BMUs. After Burt, Tyler, and Rosalita killed two more of her Shriekers and their gangs, Megan took matters into her own hands and destroyed Burt's ammunition to protect her last remaining Shrieker, much to the anger of Burt and the others, including her supervisor. Regardless, Megan finally took control of her operation and forced everyone to cooperate.

Death[]

Otto finally arrived and Dr. Flint met with him so that they can tame the final Rescue Shrieker once more and in turn, along with its pack. However, when Dr. Flint attempted to get the Shrieker's attention using a heat wand, she noticed the receiver was not responding, revealing the chip had been fried by the storm. The illusion of control she had was gone, and she stared in horror as the wild Shrieker charged. She was killed along with Otto, thus ending the project forever.
